Earth Day 2025: Reflecting on Nosto’s Sustainability

Earth Day 2025: Reflecting on Nosto’s Sustainability

Every April, Earth Day invites individuals, businesses, and communities to pause and reflect on our relationship with the planet. It’s a moment to celebrate progress, but more importantly, to recommit to the work ahead.

As a technology company, we strive to be aware of our impact and to improve it. That’s why we’ve made sustainability a cornerstone of our internal policy and culture. This Earth Day, we’re sharing where we stand, how far we’ve come, and the work we still have left to do.

Transparency over perfection

Our annual emissions tracking report for 2024 forms a key part of our Emissions Reduction and Reporting Policy, designed to hold us accountable to measurable, achievable goals aligned with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

While we’ve seen a drop in our emissions, this is largely due to our ability to better collect, understand, and act on environmental data—something we’re improving every year.

What are we currently tracking?

  • Overall CO2e/KG
  • Electricity consumption
  • Heating and cooling of our offices
  • Travel
  • Servers
  • Devices
  • Commuting

We achieved these reductions not through flashy gestures, but through practical, sometimes unglamorous improvements: reducing office space, adjusting assumptions based on more accurate data, and seeing improvements in energy efficiency.

Looking ahead: 2025 targets

We’re aiming for a further 11.76% reduction in total emissions this year. While some targets from 2024 weren’t met, we’re carrying them forward with a renewed focus on data accuracy and long-term accountability. We’re also exploring new offsetting initiatives, particularly around travel.

We know we’re not perfect—and we’re not trying to be. Sustainability is a long game. Our goal isn’t to shout the loudest, but to build consistent, transparent practices that move us in the right direction.
