BFCM Holiday Shopping Statistics 2024

Black Friday Cyber Monday 2024 is just around the corner! As always, we’ll monitor BFCM ecommerce performance across millions of Nosto-powered interactions over the entire Cyber weekend—bringing you the latest BFCM statistics hot off the press.

So, when is BFCM 2024?

This year Black Friday will fall on November 29, and Cyber Monday on December 2.

We’ll be updating this article daily (starting on Saturday, November 30, and ending on Tuesday, December 3) with an analysis of the previous day’s performance. This will include comparative year-on-year statistics on ecommerce traffic, conversion rates, sales, average selling price, AOV, and more.

Cyber Week predictions:

During BFCM 2023, our in-depth examination unveiled insights into shoppers’ behavior over the weekend that are useful in guiding merchants’ strategies this year.

  • Last year, shoppers browsed stores for longer before making purchases and interacted more heavily with the likes of on-site product recommendations. This year, merchants should ensure their stores are well-equipped with a range of product discovery experiences to make it easy for shoppers to find the right products

We recently conducted a consumer research survey, ahead of the holiday season, investigating shopper intentions this year. Surveying over 2,000 consumers across NA and the UK, revealed how:

  • Nearly a third of shoppers plan to reduce their holiday spending, citing inflation and budget-consciousness.
  • Shoppers will act fast on discounts, with 41.78% planning to snap up deals immediately as opposed to waiting and hoping for a better deal
  • Shoppers will search for the best deals by comparing prices across 3+ different stores, and will prioritize those who offer free returns (if this is you, make sure it’s loud and clear across your store!)
